Mental preparation for October
It’s very easy to become caught up in the excitment, stress and drama of a particular baseball post-season, easily forgetting that each season becomes just a small piece of baseball history. Many of the heroes of this October will be quickly forgotten, while some will be remembered only for a few years. Nothing could have reminded me of this more than a trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame on the off day before the Yankee’s first American League Division Series game against the Tigers. Already in a reflective state of mind from Yom Kippur, Lauren and I decided to take a short detour through Cooperstow on our way back to Boston from Ithaca to prepare ourselves for the Yankees run at a 27th championship.
