Little Miss Sunshine

Klinewoods Road intersects a rather major road (by Ithaca standards) in Cayuga Heights called The Parkway where several of my closest friends grew up. Some of these friends are working at law firms in NYC, others are in grad schools across the country, and others I have no idea about. One friend, Jay Kaplan, or “James Kaplan” as his IMBD profile and film credit lines read, (I’m sure Yaner would have a very different name for him) has been working his way steadily up the Tinsletown food chain. Jay’s latest work was assisting the directors in Little Miss Sunshine. I was told he also had some voice-overs and that his girlfriend had some cameos. However, when Lauren and I saw the film last night at the Fenway AMC Theatre in Boston, I didn’t hear Jay’s voice or see his girlfriend (whom I have not yet met). Perhaps when we are back in I-town over the holidays Jay can give us a private screening and point out his famous moments. The film itself was fantastic, but as I am not a movie critic, I’ll leave it at that.

The “voice over” I had hoped to hear seems to have been left on the cutting room floor. The girlfriend (Eleanor) however, was doing laps in the pool during the hotel scene in Scotsdale.
