I for one, can’t blaim Bode miller for seemingly not caring about the olympics. The alpine skiers in other countries are treated like sports gods and receive the support of their country 365 days a year.

American skiers get into the media 3 weeks every 4 years and we expect them to perform just as well. Bode does well in the world cup races because its about pure individual competition and improving your rating. The Olympics is about giving it an extra bit of umph with the backing of your country. How can we give Bode 3 weeks of support and expect him to deliver like the Austrians?
